I saw Jimmy Carter on ABC News the other night. (Yep - he's still around - the worst president of the 20th century.) He was complaining about the election preparations in florida, where they now have mostly electronic touch-screen voting machines to replace the famous hanging chads from the 2000 election, and speculating about the possibility of voting fraud by computer. Hmmmm .... does this represent the dems, currently staring defeat in the face, getting a head start on "reasons" why 2004 was another "stolen" election?
Just as in 2000, the dems are likely to actually lose florida because Nader is back on the ballot, in spite of nation-wide efforts to keep him off. He has qualified in a lot of other states. The dems should have sat down with Nader and compromised after the 2000 defeat. Instead, they made him persona non grata, and he was abandoned by the Greens, so here he is back again, ready to wreck it for Lurch, although it won't be nearly as close as 2000.
By the way, I wonder what the appeasers are going to do after Bush wins .... Hold more screechy demonstrations? Emmigrate to france? Run to Canada, Bermuda, and the Bahamas as the Tories, a previous generation of appeasers, did after the american revolution?
