Jews Killed The Lord Jesus

Shouldn't Christians be thankful the Jews (or whoever) killed Jesus? Their messiah had to die to fulfill prophecy and to save humanity, didn't he?

That's right, but in keeping with their Puritanical hatred of "anyone else", they figure they may as well affix some blame for the blessed event.

Jesus Christ!!!!

Can we end this stupid argument once and for all? It is childish and reminds me of the attitude in the Perochial school I attended.

Take it easy, man. We're just making jokes.

I get tired of those who say insulting things and then insist that they are surprised that people would get angry.

I thought the Romans killed Jesus. After all, the Jews weren't the ones who actually nailed him to the cross. And then there was the guy who poked him with a spear. He's the one who killed Jesus! Why aren't they mad at him?

All things are pre-ordained by god. By that reasoning, regardless of who did the nailing to the cross, god killed Jesus. But Jesus is god, so . . . God is . . . dead? He committed 'deicide'?

Whooaaa! Dude, I'm trippin'.

When people come out with clear statements and then when someone objects they make out it was only a joke. In other words they try to embarrass the objector. This typeof person is what's known as ..a Passive Aggressor. the next comment is always.....You need to see a Doctor.

Welcome to psychology 101.

Hey big shot, so what do you call a person who confronts another person directly?

It depends which Gospel you read. One Gospel clearly blames the Jews. Pilate is seen not wanting to kill the "King of the Jews" and "washes his hands" of the whole ordeal when he sees the Jewish crowd is forcing him.

Another Gospel shows Pilate as the instigator.

The idea of blaming anyone for Jesus death is ludicrous - He makes clear in John that He gets a lot of Love out of the deal. And He's got a talent that would have won Him a cool $million if he would have let Randi set up the test of it. (Somehow I doubt that Randi would have obliged so it's probably just as well He didn't wait.)

In the Gospel of John Jesus says:

10:17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

Maybe he's just over-reacting to that Jewish waiter who recommended the noodle soup that was too sour. Or was that the sauerkraut soup that was not sour enough? :p

As we knew all along, the bible is nothing but an excuse to hate pagans, Jews, homosexuals, women, and everybody else.

I'm mortally insulted!

How could some of you say such things?

And then you act SURPRISED that I'm insulted???

ANIMALS!!!

 GRR!!!

(Editorial note: Some people act 'upset' at just about anything... and the key word here is "ACT". It's amazing from how far certain people will walk just to be OFFENDED at a quiet conversation at another table, or even in a different room.)

Other minor technical details: It was the Romans who beat Jesus up, whipped him, kicked the holy crap out of him, stuck the crown of thorns on, and force-marched him to the place of execution, carrying his cross, too.

my bible sez the italians killed him. and since I'm in PA you must pronounce it eye-talians.

From the Denver Post:
We never intended to hurt any people," he said. "I never dreamed we would be inciting hatred for Jews." The message "spun out of control," he added.
From the Rocky Mountain News:
But please note, Gordon says, he's not apologizing for the original sign because that can be backed up by Scripture, and "I can't apologize for the word of God."
...
As for his signs, here are some of the messages he's flashed onto busy Colorado Boulevard:

• A few weeks before Pope John Paul II's visit for World Youth Day in 1993, Gordon's sign said: "If the Pope is the Anti-Christ, Adios Denver." ("He could very well be," Gordon says today.)

• Another sign said, "Homosexuality is an abomination" - "but so is any sexual activity outside marriage," Gordon adds.

• In the 2000 election year, Gordon alluded to Bill Clinton's involvement with an intern when his sign urged: "Four more years of sex and Gore - just vote no."

Today, he stands by all the messages.
