Jesse Jackson joins Terri Schiavo fight

Oh yeah, this will help make it less of a circus.

I guess Al Sharpton wasn't available?

I knew, weeks ago, from the moment I heard the first talking-head voice an opinion on this matter, that this would be the most politically convoluted mesh-mash of bedfellows ever to grace the cable news networks.

Thank-you Jesse, for making it even more perfect.

Still, he's a bit late to the scene. I know he was busy defending MJ but I think he missed the ball on this one.

And now I just hear on MSNBC that Teri's "saintly" parents are trying to sell the email addresses of the people they pleaded with for help!

Let the monetizing of Terri begin!!!

Where's he been up til now? Wondering if helping Michael Jackson would be a good career move at this point?

Agreed. Terry Shiavo is sooooo last week.

I always thought that Sharpton and Jackson are living proof of the persistance of racism. If any white politician were to act remotely as stupid as these two clowns, he'd be laughed off the stage.

But since these two are supposedly "leaders of the African-American community" (Oh yeah? Since when? Who voted for them? What office did they run to?), they are tolerated by people afraid to laugh in their face as to not be accused of "racism".

The one bad thing about Martin Luther King's legacy is that, since he led the civil rights movement by his charisma and actions, not by elections, he (unintentionally) set the precedent that the black community leaders are unofficial and unelected.

Curious since the Schindlers have consistently played up their Catholic faith and then they "invite" Jesse Jackson to lead them in prayer? Well, I guess the Pope is too ill to make an appearance...

My sympathy and respect for the Schindlers is slowly vanishing. I can understand wanting to do whatever you can to save a loved one; but, come on....Jesse Jackson???

This is clearly an effort to keep the media's attention focused on their daughter. A drastic, media pandering, meritless tactic.
