JDX's true motivation

I feel like Claude Rains character Captain Renault, in Casablanca, while having to close down Rick's for gambling. Right about the time my winnings are paid to me. SHOCKED!

Money is why a lot of new religions break up.

I really think JDX deliberately broke up LC hoping to get some of the overflow.

He saw how to work the scam

That's why you also give new converts something to distract them from money. Like 5 wives for instance.

...not that ~I~ would know anything bout that.

I think you're supposed to give them fancy underwear.

In all seriousness, it is all about money for JDX. However, he'll be lucky to make a couple o' thousand a year at best. His videos lack the entertainment factor of LC. He also forgot to slay the beast. Dylan and Company are still in business and making the rounds of the CT shows. LC is still being shown at various gatherings. They're still making enough (10, 20, or 30K) to not do any real work.

Also, Dylan is a public figure vs an anonymous pseudo pilot that gets his butt kicked by model plane enthusiasts.

I agree with your assessment of JDX's prospects, but it may be a different matter of Dylan and Company. Take this, for example:

Please note, we charge as little as we can for what we sell.

We are spending upwards of five figures a month purely on the free education of others. We send out hundreds of free DVDs a week to 9/11 victims and their family members, schools, libraries, firehouses and rescue workers.

By supporting us, you are supporting the further education of those that either cannot afford it or do not have the means.

Sincerely,
Louder Than Words

Now, I realise that the things that these guys say can usually be taken with a pinch of salt, but I think the education expenditure claim may be a response to claims that the LTW boys are raking in plenty of bucks. Money was at the root ofThe demise of the old LC forum. ThatOneDood (Skeptic4Sure on here?) provides a little more insight in response to an allegation by Russell Pickering:

I know you felt cheated by not being included on the financial aspects of certain successes that you felt could not have been achieved without you. I know the financial motives of others involved from first hand phone calls.

Good job. I knew this would be coming. First hand phone calls about what? Saying how I would like to be compensated for the work I would have been doing and had done for the film, not just the movement, but Dylan's film which is grossing a lot of money. Funny how you didn't mention the part where I said I felt that everyone should be getting a little offering for their troubles and efforts. Everyone including you.......

So,ThatOneDude/Skeptic4Sure, in the interest of truth, please put a figure on that gross you were talking about.

Is he actually giving away thousands of dollars or thousands of dollars worth of material? Is he giving away burned copies of LC? Is he giving away bulk commercial copies of LC and counting the full price of an individual DVD?

Why is he so reluctant to give money away? Why not give a scholarship to the child of a 9/11 victim? Why not pay for the medical costs of a survivor? Instead, he gives them a copy of a DVD that costs him all of a couple of dollars.

They do receive a lot of freebies from other patriots, but they are still loafing at home and can pay for trips to New York. I don't think they're rich by any means, but they are making enough to satisfy a lazy young man. After all, why work to earn high 5 or 6-figure salaries when you can BS your way into 20 or 30K?
