JAMES DAWSON, Dowsing for the Dead

James Dawson has applied for the Challenge with the claim that he can tell, with certain information, whether a person is alive or dead and what position they were in when they died.

If Mr. Dawson is presented with photographs, full names, and birth dates of any individual (though he has specified no children, as it would be too emotional if they were deceased) he can tell if they are at this time living or dead.

Mr. Dawson has not specified whether or not these need to be recent photos.

He has used the FBI's Missing Persons web site as a test run to show what can be done. The list consists of the people's names, when they went missing, whether they are alive or dead (according to his readings), and stick figure drawings of their positions if they are dead.

If anyone would like to keep up with the readings he has already done to see if, in the future, they are correct, they are as follows. Remember that these are his readings. Apologies to anyone who comes across this forum who is searching for one of these individuals. Please keep in mind that the tests are conducted for research purposes, and that if Mr. Dawson can really perform his claim as he says, many families in the future will be spared grief. And if not, it is better that we publicly unmask that fact.

I would also like to take this moment to extend condolences to the families who are suffering the loss of these individuals. Many of them have personal web sites dedicated to the search for their missing loved one. If you can take a moment out of your day to visit these sites, I'm sure the families would greatly appreciate it.

In all discussions about this particular applicant, let's keep in mind that now, when these families google their loved one's names, they are going to get a hit on this site. So let's not speculate on what we think happened with each one, but instead concentrate on the claim itself and the protocol we'll need.

Thanks much!
