Sorry to bore with repeated threads about the inane Jim Callahan, but as his cohort Slim King/Psychic Samurai/The Professor is attempting the MDC I thought it pertinent.
No clue if this is in right section. This is the quote that starts the last page of a now locked thread.

Well the video of Randi admitting to engaging in a federal crime it being edited right now.

I don't think Non-Profit orgs are to be breaking the law to turn a buck.

The MDC is a swindle and a few posting on this thread understand why.
It comes down to basic logic nothing more.

Jim

H.o.A-X

I believe it discussion worthy,if nothing else so I can annoy the creep on Magic Cafe.

You know, this guy really ticks me off.

I am an ametuer magician, and though I don't make a living at it, I do stage hypnosis too. Studying magic, it's clear that not one effect involves "tapping into your special gifts". It's all done with sleights, gimmicks, lies and misdirection.

Jim, even though he says he uses his "powers" for entertainment purposes only, still claims to have "powers" when even I can do that trick he did on "Phenom".

Any magician worth his or her salt never says they have "powers". Even people with personas like Max Maven may say "I read your mind", but we all know he's performing a trick.

It seems to me that Jim wants to feed his ego, he wants to believe that he has "powers" when it's clear he knows himself that he doesn't.

Sorry, but IMHO as magicians go, Jim is horrible. I'd much rather see a child perform an ACR and flub it more than Jim's overacting, self-serving "performance" on "Phenom".

People like Randi here, Derren Brown, Penn & Teller, Max Maven, Chris Kenner, Luke Jeremy, Lee Asher inspire people like me to learn the craft and learn it well. People like Jim squash that inspiration in people only because he needs to feed his own ego.

He's obviously going down the route he's going because he either talentless or he has no confidence in his talents. And for that, he should be ignored and be allowed to fade into obscurity.

Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now.

That thread seems to read as if Jim's saying that questioning the supernatural is a federal crime... I must be misreading due to being over tired...

It's a smokescreen. Misdirection. All magicians are trained in this.

Jim's & company are calling "foul" on the MDC just so people won't pay attention to the fact they are the real lairs.

....of course all of you know that. :)

Well most threads re:Randi and MDC get locked or deleted on Magic Cafe,so were stuck with waiting for The Professor to complete his application.
Not sure if this happens before or after The Second Coming,Loch Ness monster is found and Aliens are found to have carried out 9/11 :D

Technically, one of the above has already occurred.

Reading a few of the posts at the Magic Cafe, I feel Slim and Jim are toying with their questioners; it's a game with them and one they'll always "win," because in the strange universe they inhabit they simply cannot lose.

I wouldn't take them at all seriously or argue with them -- it only gives them the notoriety they seem to crave. I guess that's what one does when one can't earn an honest living.

They are legends are in their own forum thread!

Really? Which?
As Czarcasm correctly said the third.

In US legal parlance the term Alien is used to describe any resident of the US who is not a US citizen. As this accurately describes each of the 15 hijackers who participated in the attacks on 09/11/2001 the statment that Aliens are found to have carried out 9/11 is technically true.

Awww... no ray guns??

Wow.It's being nice knowing James Randi! I expect the FEDS will have arrested him by now anyway.

In a post at Sep 12, 2008 5:13pm, he seems to be questioning the paranormal himself: in a reply to a post saying, "you argue the MDC is a swindle because it requires the claimant to demonstrate something that cannot be demonstrated in this world", he posts "you have it".
