...before Uri Geller was on TV telling how he's going to help England win.Tomorrow on UK chat show Richard & Judy along with a feng shui expert and a Vicar(?!) the three will tell how they are helping English football team win! I remember the world cup(was it two world cups?)where he claimed he moved a ball off the penalty spot so the opposing team missed(cant recall who they were)when it was clearly a breeze(what else could it be!!)and then in another tournament saying he knew who the winner was going to be(but naturally wouldnt tell!)

On a similiar note Sun newspaper astrologer/psychic cross dresser? Mystic Meg wrote this in Mondays paper re: the upcoming England-Croatia game: Rooney will be helped by an older man(as he's the youngest on the field this is nailed on)and the game will turn on a late penalty"- There was no penalty!;)

Uri should be a laugh!

Is it a crime in the UK to influence the outcome of a sporting event? Is Uri confessing to a crime?

If such things were actually possible, then sporting events would not be decided by the atheletes. It would come down to which team's fans had the greater psychic abilities...

I am always amused by fan rituals, such as "rally caps" (wearing one's cap backwards to rally one's team). Some people believe it works. Interesting Ian might say there are cases of "anomalous victories" and American might claim the practice was totally copied from REO Speedwagon. But rational people understand that it is just a bonding experience among fans to show their support for their team...

I have consulted aged tomes and conversed with the greatest of Feng Shui masters to bring you the following:

In order for the purest flow of Qi through the stadium and the maximum energising of the crowd with the spirit of life-force, these changes must be made before the beginning of the England Vs Portugal match:

1) England's goals must be moved to an area outside of the stadium.

2) The penalty spot for the Portuguese team must be moved forward to within 3 feet of their goals.

3) The Portuguese penalty area must be extended to the half-way line.

4) The assigned Portuguese goalkeeper (and all reserves) must be placed on a plane bound for Timbuktu.

(Note that the Qi flow reverses during the half-time period - alterations to the pitch markings and fixtures regarding 1, 2 and 3 should be applied appropriately.)

No charge.
