On a quasi-serious note, I don't begrudge this sort of emotional reaction. I'd say the same if it was Bush making the concession speech. (Of course, being a Nader voter, I've got "a pox on both your houses" going.)

Say you're a campaign volunteer. You work tirelessly for months--registering people to vote, going door-to-door, phone banking, stuffing envelopes, working with local papers to get out the campaign's views, helping out at fundraisers, even just holding a sign at a busy intersection. You work HARD for your candidate. And then, in one devastating night, it's all over. He loses. All that hard work for naught.

It would be an emotional moment for any of us.

I agree. Been there (years ago). Done that (for a candidate for a city office).
