This is the James Randi Educational Foundation... so I thought I would give all here a head's up on a lecture series joint-hosted by the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) and the Seismological Society of America (SSA). You can obtain more information about the lecturers and their topics on the website:
http://www.iris.edu/services/lectures/iris_ssa.htm
You may have to go back to this webpage to see updates on where the lectures are going to speak during the year but already there is a list so if you live anywhere near where they are hosting the lecturer, I recommend you attend the talk. If you are interested in bringing one of the lecturers to your local college, university, or science-oriented-museum the webpage provides for contact details and more information.
I should point out that the lectures are geared towards a general audience so no degree in science is required to attend the public lectures.
