I'm just curious as to where members of this forum stand on the war in Iraq, torture in Abu Ghraib, Chemical Weapons in Fallujah, Depleted Uranium everywhere, and the lies about WMD.

So does the average JREF support the war in Iraq or not?

This is beyond pathetic. You are trying to suggest that we think alike and must agree with everything Bush says because we point out the numerous flaws within your movement's theories.

Unfortunately for you, you'll find out that many people on JREF are not even fans of Bush and don't live in the same country as him.

Back at the topic at hand, no, I don't.

Sigh. As usual, just like they seem to think 'the Man' is some monolithic single entity created to bring them down, they also seem to think that all JREFers think with one mind.

Yea, some of us support the war totally, some are totally against it, and some are undecided. And guess what? Most of us would be able to succinctly articulate why without using spittle-spewing ideological rhetoric and hyperbole.

"The average JREF", whatever that is I wonder. I got to know so many people here, yet I wouldn't know whom to label "the average JREF". Weird, isn't it.

Ever heard the phrase "poisoning the well"?

I'm sure there are posters here who will be more than happy to confirm your opinions. But that looks like about all you're interested in. Don't expect to get much respect here with that approach.

Seeing how this was moved from the Conspiracy Theory Forums then it's safe to say that you do acknowledge that :

1) Chemical Weapons were used by the US on Fallujah
2) Nuclear Weapons (DU) have been used all over the country
3) A genocide is being carried out in Iraq
4) Torture is common place
5) We invaded a country based on Right Wing Extremists WILD CONSPIRACY THEORY

Do you disagree with any of the above statements?

If so, which ones and why?

The only thing that is "safe to say" is that the thread belongs in politics. Any conclusions beyound that are made at your own peril.

I, for one, support every single action the US government do. Whether they torture innocent children, gas millions of Chinese, stage a nuclear attack on Paris, or make men eat their own faeces. Remember now, that I dont believe they are responsible for 9/11, so I must support everything they do right?

Right?

War in Iraq: is that still on? I thought Saddam was like, gone already.
Torture in Abu Ghraib: just there? Now who's being naive?
Chemical Weapons in Fallujah: Evidence?
Depleted Uranium everwhere: Well, not everywhere. Maybe the Iranians can collect it all and refine it. Gotta catch 'em all, Pokenukemon!
Lies about WMD: Wait, wasn't WMD a band from the late 70's?

(The average JREF is a smart aleck, obviously. Duh.)

Depleted Uranium is NOT considered a nuclear weapon, and extensive health physics studies of DU environmental effects in both Serbia and Iraq show the overall risks of DU to both the environment and humans to be inconsequential.
(Are you aware that DU is used as tail weights in civilian aircraft and as shielding in hospital radiation therapy machines?)

TC329, for what it's worth:

1) the war in Iraq

Totally against it, and the reasons we went in. Was from the start, with the caveat (like most I think) that if we deposed Saddam and helped set up democratic government with low overall casualties, it could still end being A Good Thing. But the ends would not justify the means, in my opinion. I do recognise now that "we" are there, we have a duty of care to minimise casualties and resolve the situation as best we can.

2) Torture in Abu Ghraib
Has happened, may still be happening. Deplorable.

3) Chemical Weapons in Fallujah
I call BS, but admit to knowing little about this. Where's the evidence?

4) Depleted Uranium everywhere
And not a drop to drink. The hazards of DU, as has been pointed out, are overrated. Pulverised and inhaled, there may be individual health risks, but environmentally and in general terms, it's a low risk.

5) and the lies about WMD.
I think the government(s) (particularly my own) actually believed that there would be WMDs found to justify their pre-emptive invasion. There's no evidence of outright lying that I've seen, just heavy spin afterward as damage limitation.

You have to wonder, from the conspiracy theorist's PoV, why the US government wouldn't plant a few WMDs to save face and international condemnation.

Anyway, there's your answers. Bear in mind that I am a UK citizen, and that I'm 100% against 9/11 CTs.

Nobody here is average.

Not being a regular on CT, I just have to say: whaaaaaaa?!?

How do those five follow from the premise?

It is called "magical thinking" and since the forum has rules against revealing magic secrets, you'll just have to accept it.
