I belong to a local PAC that brings in all sorts of people from all over the spectrum. One of the more interesting talks was today, with Ron Reagan Jr. speaking at large. As you would probably expect, he was what I'd call moderate-liberal in tone, critical of the Bush administration, especially critical of the Rovian behaviors, and in conversation beforehand, highly, and I do mean highly, unimpressed with the "fitness water" craze.

Now, he had some interesting things to say, for instance that the Juvenile Diabetes foundation got a response from Rove that basically said "if we allow stem cell research and you cure the disease, we get this many votes, but we lose this many, so we're against it". Now, that's simply reporting his words, I can't speak more for or against them, although I'd love to find a cite.

But the thing that caught my attention was a discussion he was having with the hosts before the show, where the idea of "Oxygen water" and "fitness water" came up, and well, let's just say he finds the idea ridiculous. The comment was 'well, of course I feel better hydrated, I just drank water. Only mine came out of the wall and cost 2 cents. Gee!"
