Here's a good one. Apparently not only does water have a memory, but it can be erased and reprogrammed at will. In other words it's a read-write memory - with an access that could hardly be more random I should think. I have asked for the peer-reviewed papers to support this claim, but nothing yet. I can hardly wait for aqueous computers to appear. Presumably they will be wetware not hardware (unless they get too cold).

Those guys ought to be careful. They are an English company and Penta water have just been criticised for false advertising in a very similar way in the UK:

Penta Water told to stop lying in their adverts
The problem is that the ASA won't regulate sellers' own websites. You have to go to the Office of Fair Trading but they are vastly more lethargic - I have had no replies to 2 other complaints so far.

They will regulate leaflets, though; that's what the Penta complaint was about. Go to "Request info" and you can get them to send you their brochure (and price list, of course...).

Well yes - so they stop the leaflets and carry on with the website. Which reaches the more people?

Point taken, but at least it would be a start. It's a pity the ASA website doesn't include details of "Informally Resolved Complaints," which I assume include the ones where the advert is withdrawn without a fight. But you never know, they might be confident (or maybe deluded) enough to try to prove their case, as Penta did.

If you look at the Penta site you will see that they are still making exactly the same claims, apparently with impunity. I would say that the OFT should take action if there has been prior enforcement of hard copy ads by ASA, but who am I to tell them what to do?

In normal conditions," Grander maintains, "Water flows either on the surface of the earth or deep underground, always seeking a natural course. In our water supply system, however, the water is collected and forced through pipelines under pressure. At this stage the water suffers a serious aggression for the first time. The high pressures are highly detrimental to the liquid.
These guys never heard of an artesian well?

for the sense-of-humor impared:[sarcastic mode]Obviously, you are unfamiliar with the fact that Organic Pressure, as created by natural causes, such as water following its memory of a low energy state and high-tailing it for low ground, is completely different from evil, unnatural, man-made pressure, which forces the water to contradict its natural philosophy!

While we're on the subject of "magic water", can anyone direct me to a thread or web site discussing the ridiculous claims made in Masaru Emoto's book "The Hidden Messages in Water"?
I know several people who are absolutely enamored of Emoto and his "work" and I want more information. His book seems to just be a compilation of unfounded, untested claims, which he uses to "prove" that thoughts affect everything around us.
The movie "What the @%&*^ do we Know", a sort of new age quantum physics proves anything we want it to prove movie, also uses Emoto's "work" to prove whatever they want.

I think it can only go to the Office of Fair Trading, but complaints are building up there and there only seems to be one person to deal with them. Meanwhile it's open season for anyone to tell whatever lies they like on their own websites. I think I feel another campaign coming.....

Perhaps not enough detail, but I've always found this site to be a useful resource on water quackery in general, which mentions Emoto's work and photos.
