I've been conducting something of an 'infowar' here in Halifax, where I've been removing those "9-11 Was an Inside Job" stickers that someone has been posting up all over town. Nearly as soon as I've taken them down, they've been replaced. If nothing else, I'm helping them waste their money on vinyl stickers...

Lately the stickers haven't been popping back up; I thought maybe that they'd just given up. Until tonight.

I've found a number of handbills taped up on light poles now, advertising another website of crazy theories. The text of the handbill is below:

981 km/h = 609 m/h, so I'll say "Yes, it could fly that fast, regardless of altitude... it wouldn't be that hard for a pilot who's not too concerned with life or safety.

Anyhow, I didn't get much past the first video on the taboo site... I haven't even got to the "911 Taboo" video yet.

Something about straight lines and planes not flying in them. Honestly; it's like they've drafted the Time Cube guy to their cause... "Planes in parallel lines converging your teachers are stupid! Don't understand new cubic lines parallel not straight and normal cubic flight paths..."

I don't have the patience to deal with truthers, but I can debate homeopaths all day long. How do people not just want to punch these guys in the throats when they start ranting about how steel doesn't melt?

Go out to Lombard, WildCat... it's the only place I've ever seen one of those stickers, stuck to one of the signs just off the Reagan Tollway at Highland Avenue. This was last October, though, but it's a sign of an admittedly weak truthist presence in the area.

Initially, I simply tore the black and white stickers down when I found them. Lately I've taken to collecting them. It's amazing how many of them spring up in only the single kilometer course I walk daily to and from work.

They're decent quality stickers on vinyl, that easily come off in one piece if you're careful. I just fold them up, matching sticky sides, stick them in my pocket, and add them to the collection when I get home.

American Airlines Flight 11 aircraft was a Boeing 767-223ER
United Airlines Flight 175 aircraft was a Boeing 767-222/ER
American Airlines Flight 77 aircraft was a Boeing 757-223
United Airlines Flight 93 aircraft was a Boeing 757-200

Could almost be a typo, but 93 didn't crash into the towers...

The peacearmada guy has now started sending me emails about how particle physics had to have been suspended that day in order for a plane to crash into a building.

I think someone was googling himself and found this post. Comments on one of the videos he'd posted to my weblog seemed to seriously offer up CGI and holography as methods that the government used to pull the proverbial wool over our eyes.

He then tells me to go watch TV... I don't own a TV, thus I don't have the government broadcasting mind control rays into my home.

How about a counter-sticker, address label size, that you could print up on your PC, giving the urls of this forum, 911 Myths, Mark Roberts' site, etc. that you could slap over the truther stickers?

Not a bad idea. I thought about editing them with a Sharpie, but that was more effort than just taking them down. A counter-sticker-terrorism campaign might be a good idea, actually.

So, peacearmada has been writing me some love notes. I asked her why she kept telling me to go watch some more TV, and I said that I don't even have a TV...

One of the funniest bits is when peacearmada accuses me of 'needing help from dick' in fighting off her truth. I was confused, and even more so when she mentioned that 'vic' and 'dick' were teaming up on her.

Well, my nickname on my blog (Bankrupt Artist) is xinit. That's who I responded to as there. Using Truther Powers, she was able to see through my nick of xinit and see the real nick behind it of vic... Maybe xinit is just some elaborate part of the corporate hegemony that's seeking to keep us all locked in the Matrix or whatever?

When you have such good attention to detail to mix up "xinit" and "vic", I'm sure you can be trusted with the details involved in the physics of collision and free-fall.

I don't understand how watching TV renders one a sheep automatically, but subscribing to a YouTube channel doesn't.

I worry about the state of the schools with quality examples of students who can barely form a coherent argument without resorting to ad hominem attacks. Why do people assume that the name Dick offends everyone named Richard? I had a Welsh teacher in elementary school who insisted on called me Dick. It's not my preferred choice, but I got over it in fourth grade.

Then I realized just how much the Truthers had changed their story. Now they claim that there weren't even any planes at all; that it was holographic projections wrapped around missiles. Wouldn't it be easier for the government to just use PLANES rather than develop super holographic projection systems to pretend they were planes?

Okay, you don't seem to be able to process simple information; I don't
believe what I see on TV. I don't OWN a TV as I've said before. How is believing what I see on YouTube any better?

I know that the government lies to us on issues. Until someone actually offers up information in a clear fashion that doesn't revolve solely around re-edited footage on YouTube with more statistics about how fast planes can go typed across the overly compressed video. If planes didn't hit the towers on 9/11, then tell me what I saw hit; not what was seen ON TV, but what was seen IN NEW YORK. Was there some big Evil Villain style plot that poisoned the water supply? Some sophisticated holographic system from Star Trek? What?

However, maybe it would be easier to open up a dialogue than to hurl accusations at people you don't know.
