Ok. I'm listening to what is quite possibly the funniest podcast ever. Reggie is interviewing Pastor Harry of Landover Baptist. He's even better "live".

My favorite line: God doesn't care if the money comes from a white man's wallet or a negro's shoe.

I played this episode with my wife listening, after 5min she asked "is this guy for real?". Well its kind of hard to tell since some christians are just like him. Solid gold comedy.

I don't know if I would catagorize this as comedy. What that minister was saying was monstrous! He openly supports terrorism, as long as it is Christian Terrorism, he is openly racist, and he has no qualms interfering with people's private lives!
He has no problem with Bush destroying the world, because he thinks he will be raptured to heaven.

And he says all this with the sweetest of voices, the most grandfatherly of dispositions.

He may not be actively dangerous, himself, but if this is what he is preaching, I would be worried.
We may laugh at his delusions now, but when these guys hijack public policy, it is no longer humorous.

Landover is a parody site. Or so I've been told.

Suspicious about what? That he was or wasn't a parody? That Reggie was really eating Andy Capp Hot Fries while interviewing Pastor Harry? That really, at the end of the day, it gets dark? What?

I played this over the PalTalk channel. I must admit there were a few occasions when I actually felt quite uncomfortable with some of the satire and subject matter. I found myself immediately telling people who entered the room that it was satire...

I like the intro and end theme though....

It's didn't seem "realistic" that a church would give away free PS3, and even less realistic that they would alter those games to include Jesus Christ and enable "god mode" cheats.

Unlike almost everything else he spoke about, that seemed like the one thing I didn't think a church would really do.

When I first came across Landover a long time ago, I enjoyed reading the message board and the comments from those who thought that it was serious.

The word "satire" was banned in messages, being replaced by asterisks.

Yeah, cause the Christian Fundies would NEVER make a video game. ;)
