...so I really don't know too much about the religion at all, but this site seems to be extremely full of crap. It came up on another board I frequent but it seems so bad that I haven't directly responded to it. Should I just let it pass?

Some scary folks out there.

Old recycled slanders from the Nazi days.

I don't understand the question. Seems like they are selecting quotes from the Talmud (pretty much rabbinic commentary on the Torah) to paint Jewish people in a bad light. *shrug* Seems a lot of what people against the Bible do (or for the Bible, for that matter)... take things out of context, select unrelated passages to form conclusions, or point out things that no person in their right minds would do today (see Leviticus for examples).

Take their cited passages, read the context surrounding it, and try and refute it. Or, since the person is attacking Judaism, if he his Christian, point out the things in Leviticus that should make any decent person's skin crawl with the thought of a God that really thinks those things are good and just.

The quotes at that site are fake. *UNshug*

This is a neo-Nazi site.

Michael A. Hoffman II seems specialized on a basic antisemitism angle, rather than general white supremacy, if you go to the main page and browse a bit.

Makes him more of a mainstream and palettable character to the Christian and Islamic types who also happen to be antisemetic (though not necessarily to most Christian or Islamic types, just to make the previous statement absolutely clear). It gets him cited in their articles.

He has books on subjects such as the 'strange' Jewish gods. Oh well, I'm sure any gods besides his own personal Jesus would seem 'strange' to this one.

Here's another article from him in response to an ADL flier that mentions him.

Basically it's hate-speak doctored up to be somewhat learned-looking, thus sugar coated for others to swallow without thought, to give these people's own stronger more specific views some credibility.

I wonder what Sherwin Wine would have to say about this. He was trained as a Reform rabbi and is additionally a leading Bible scholar. I've seen him tear theists/anti-Semites to shreds in debates.

Does anyone know if he's been to TAM before?

Get ready then: this is an election year.

Phoney quotes from ancient literature is not your usual election tactic.

I suspect that neo-Nazis dislike Bush for being pro-Israel, but that doesn't make them Kerry supporters.
