If there is an afterlife can we ever know the nature of it. If we can never know the nature of something, is that the same as saying it doesn't exist? Is merely thinking about something, enough to bring it into existence?

I was speaking from a theoretical perspective. It is conceivable that there is an afterlife, even though we may never know the nature of it. From a practical perspective, I see no reason to believe in one if no evidence can be provided. I.e. I feel the burden of proof is on the person who claims this state exists even though they cannot provide evidence.

I haven't seen any evidence for it, but if there is an afterlife, I doubt it has much to do with any particular religion.

There are conciverble cercemstances under which the answer to question one could be yes.

Logically so, since no information on it can reach us.

Would that circumstance be after death?

SEE PROOF OF THE AFTERLIFE!! Just let me kill you...

That's true, there is only one way to find out.

But then you may not realize the answer is no. :)

Well that could be one way I suppose but not one I would recomend. The simplest way would be if some way was found to detect an "after world" but there are others. (note: this is purly hypothetical)

I have always thought that one of the annoying things about being an atheist was that I couldn't then say Nyaa! Nyaa! if I were right....
