I Can Predict The Future With Uncanny Accuracy

I sent this prediction to my friends in late December last year. Now, I know that no-one here is interested in retrodiction, so I'm going to make exactly the same predictions for the next twelve months. I await my $1,000,000.

The New Nostradamus

Being an Entirely Acurate Prediction of the Coming Months and the Complete Non-Appearance of the Antichrist

I tell not of the coming of the Beast
(for Truth alone I shed my precious ink)
but these few prophecies I make at least:
there will be trouble in the Middle East;
a Muslim will blow something up, I think.
A politician will tell a lie (or so
another MP will claim --- and he should know);
there'll be race problems in some Northern town;
a minor public figure will be "outed";
the Government will say that crime is down ---
the Opposition will beg leave to doubt it.
Another murder will delight the Press
(as will indecency on television).
In Ulster peace will meet with scant success
for I forsee . . . sectarian division.
And businessmen shall sell, and fools shall love
and politicians lie, and pedants bore
and the same old world go rolling in its groove
and everything continue as before:
and as in every age, in every clime
the cranks and madmen of the earth shall cry:
"NOW, surely that dread hour draweth nigh
when God shall show his power, NOW the time
when he shall break the earth and spill the seas
and shake the planets tumbling from the sky ---
for surely there were never times like these!"
