Bearing in mind Uri's astonishing ability to bring disaster and failure to whatever he endorses or 'assists' I fear Mrs Thatcher is not long for this earth:

From Uri-Geller's website

"Now look. Her heart was removed on May 3rd 1979.... but if you listen closely... it has started beating again....

amazing, I wasn't sure I could do it etc etc."

Well despite the miners, the poll tax, the inflation, the unemployment, 'Care in the community', the friendship with Pinochet and the million other delightful things we remember her for I'm not sure even Maggie deserves Uri Geller in her life.

He's such a star-struck idiot around celebrities of any kind. Even Maggie.

Oi, hands off Maggie!

You lot can just belt up about Maggie. She accomplished something pretty rare for a PM: made herself widely disliked over here in the Former Colony.

For the most part, Americans always regard a British Prime Minister as somehow vaguely a Good Fellow. (This is the Churchill Halo Effect. We're still hoping for a cure.) Our Maggie was and still is seen quite* differently, and that's no small achievement in a country that elected a broken-down old TV actor president -- twice!

Uri wouldn't make a pimple on Margaret Thatcher's I hope you don't mind my language.

* How quite? Do the words "hateful old scorpion" suggest anything?

Was Maggie disliked in the States? The way she was portrayed here it seemed like she was bosom buddies with Reagan. Of course, that just made her more vile in my eyes.

I doubt most Americans know who she is. Your more political right wingers do like her quite a bit, though, I believe.

When I was a small boy I always wanted Maggie to make a noise like a frog.

This was because my Mum said that we could go to Disney Land when she 'croaked'!!

(drum roll and cymbal crash please)

Erm... actually, most Americans know who she is, but don't care. ;)

From what I've read I don't like her much, but I was still a child when she was in office-- she left office when I was 12. Most of my info on her is from WikiPedia. :con2:
