Hypnosurgery on UK TV tonight

Apparently there is a program on UK TV tonight about Hypnosurgery. It is a program about the benefits of hypnosis as an anesthetic. They are going to perform a live operation with no anesthetic, only hypnosis!

Checkout the program forum where a lone skeptic is debating the hypnotherapists. I don't have the time but if anyone else wants to go over there and critically examine their "evidence"...

Fixing a hernia under hypnosis. That guy gets an A for bravery. You don't even have to watch the whole operation, I'm sure we'll know from the very first cut if it works or not.

Isn't there already a thread on this?

It's not like this is anything new...in fact it's something very old. Anesthesia is only about 150 years old. Of course this guy is forgoing the "get really smashed on opiates" option also, but he's far from the first surgical patient to grin and bear it.
