In light of the economic crisis, I doubt that anyone would care about
what he has to ... hey, look - my avatar portrays a terrorist. :covereyes

You're being very generous with that 3% lol. Actually, if you really had a wild imagination and he did win the Rep nomination, a more realistic number would be in the 30% range, because of the anti-Obama vote.

I'm far from a big fan of Ron Paul, seeing how critical of him I've been and my belief that he is a dangerous whack-job.

However, if given a choice between him and Palin, I wouldn't call it a no-brainer. Paul has stupid ideas, but Palin is a train wreck. At least Paul would be somewhat good with the veto as to matters of personal liberty and can form complete sentences.

Paul would get at least 35%. That people have talked themselves into Palin as a possible VP is a pretty good indication that they will vote for anyone on the GOP ticket.

I just feel that being a nominee of the Republican party gives you a minimum of 30%, so I'm giving him the minimum.

He comes across as a lunatic. All they have to do is ask him what he plans to do to the CIA and IRS and everybody starts laughing.

The real question is how would a Paul/Kucinich matchup have played out? :D

The economic advisors for the two candidates, if they kept the ones they had for the Presendential run, create a scandal by killing each other.
You just cannot find two economists more opposed to each other. One is a Libertarian, the other is a Hard Line Socialists in all but name.

He might be at 25 to 30 percent tops. The economy would kill him as no one would take him serious when he announces a plan to go back to the gold standard and every financial reporter and economist comes on TV predicting a credit crisis that makes the Great Depression look like a small dip. This of course would be followed up with mobs demanding his head when he gives a big FU about the housing crisis. But, he probably would get Joe the maybe plumber's vote.

If Ron Paul had his way we'd be back on the barter system trading shells and beads for food. 20 Paul Beads gets you a loaf of bread in 2009.

We could have sold pay-per-view tickets for that!!!

Ron Paul lost because he did not push on the issue he should have pushed.
Lower taxes much more than McCain.

He would have had more chances this way (maybe)
