I'm not sure what to think of the whole Democrats/Nader Florida ballot crap.

Thinking skeptically: How can we tell the difference between if the Democrats are trying to manipulate the ballot, or simply insisting on enforcement of the election law?

Ethically speaking, its very questionable since they tried to undermine election law so much in Florida 2000. However, the law is the law. Even if they didn't respect it then there is no reason why it shouldn't be enforced now.

There is definitely a clearcut case of zero reciprocity.

The whole mess though finally put the nail in the coffin for me with Nader. I will never vote for the man again.

Odd. Had the opposite effect for me with the Democrats. I think siccing your lawyers just to keep possible opposition off the ballot is undemocratic and reprehensible. If the Republicans were doing this to the Democrats, you'd see people screaming bloody murder, and rightfully so.

It is not Nader's fault if people vote for him.

It is the responsibility of the voters to choose how to vote. People seem to forget that.

It is fair for the Dems to inform the public of the consequences of voting for Nader. It is not fair to try to keep Nader off the ballot. it is sneaky for the Reps to push Nader to try to siphon votes from the Dems.

My feeling is that this manuvering has very little real effect, other than giving voters more reasons to vote against the other guy rather than voting for their guy.

If the Dems all show up wearing white (for purity)...then they're obviously innocent of any wrong thinking or doing.....

This is simply politics as normal.

Republicans are signing Nader petitions and using their lawyers to get him on the ballot. The Democrats are using their lawyers to prevent it. If it were simply a question of counting legitimate signatures, I would side with the Republicans but having the Republicans organize Nader signature gathering is equally improper.

Tweedledumb and tweedledumber.

The reason I'm fed up with Nader is for accepting Republican money and playing Buchanan's game of hijacking another party (the Reform Party) for his own purposes. Talk about a man that will do anything to get elected. If he hadn't gone that far, I'd be a big defender.
