How did Jesus 'H' Christ get his middle name ?

I have it on good authority that jesus' middle name is Hussein.....

Hippo --- as in Hippocrit .
Horrid --- as in the Devil's cousin ?
etc
 
This has generally been my hypothesis as well, although it's at least equally plausible that it derives from random nonsense slang. It would have been even more plausible if there was some kind of common abbreviation along the lines of IHX, but AFAIK from Metzger's work nothing like that shows up.

Now that we have figured out some more letters for the J Mans Middle initial, let's tackle (1) why Lone Ranger isn't Lone H Ranger? (2) Do his friends other than Tonto call him Lone? (3) Does he wear the mask around the house? (4) Are his silver bullets collector items? (5) does he have a love interest besides Trigger?

It's because of the holes in his hands and side, it earned him the nickname "holey". An early example of extreme body-piercing.

Well, it's obvious. How could Jesus be American unless he has, and used, a middle initial? I'm surprised he isn't Jesus H. Christ Junior.

My Father was a career Air Force Officer. He had no middle initial. Every thing he signed in the service had to include after his first name NMI.
 
Jesus (assuming his actual existence) did not have a middle name. He did not even have a "last name". His name would have been "Jesus".

"Christ" was an honorific, not a name; it was added to his name as honorifics are added (for instance, "King William", where "King" is not actually a part of William's name, just always spoken with it).

"Jesus H. Christ" appears to be a modern American dialectical expletive, with "H." being a random "middle initial" for added humorous effect. There is no evidence as far as I am aware that it was ever intended to reference an actual extant word or name.

If we're going to be pedantic, then his name would have been "Yeshua" or something like that :D

As for the H, I suspect it was chosen merely because it scans well. Just try substituting it for any of the other 25 letters of the alphabet, none of them are as aesthetically pleasing.
