I've moved away from Houston or I would follow up. I also sent this to Mr Randi and Dr Shermer for their perusal.

Unfazed couple put their ghosts to work
bruce.westbrook@chron.com For the Chronicle
When Harry and Lesli Zamora bought their dream house, it became the stuff of nightmares.
Strange things started happening. Doors slammed or locked by themselves. Lights and faucets turned on while they were away. And as Leslie lay in bed one night, she felt the hair on her neck gently rubbed.
"At first I thought, 'He's so sweet,' and rolled over," she said. "But Harry's back was to me. He was sound asleep."
Fearful they were going crazy, the Zamoras sought help.
...
Sparked by the experience, Harry and six other Houston-area law officers formed an informal team of investigators of the paranormal: the Phenomena Police. (Check them out at www.phenomenapolice.com.) Working free on their own time, they respond to similar reports, first running polygraph tests to ensure claims are in earnest, then amassing evidence such as infrared shots of ghostly images.
...
The Zamoras also are experienced at making industrial and safety videos, so another idea was hatched: to make a reality-TV pilot called Phenomena Police and spread the word.
This week at their home, that dream, at least, came true. Former Hollywood writer-producer David Carren, now of Houston, is directing a pilot for Phenomena Police Inc., funded by the group along with investors. When the half-hour show is ready in June, they'll offer it to cable channels as a series.
