Hotmail Trojan?

If that's the right word for it. I'm too old to keep up with modern techonology (too old at 30!).

When I go to log on at Hotmail, I get an "Enter Network Password" pop-up. I'm doing a virus scan at the moment, because I haven't seen this before, but does anyone know of a trojan going around at the moment that tries to hack your hotmail password?

Hot mail occasionally does this. I've seen it today.

One thing you might consider is getting a free copy of Ad-aware 6.0 and Spybot. You can do a Google or get it from CNET. Those plus a copy of Norton will keep you warm and comfy.

My wife uses Hotmail and it recently started with her, too. I think it's MS' "passport" signon, where you have the "enhanced experience" of automatic login.

I just changed the desktop shortcut to the main Hotmail page and it stopped presenting that different login. Oh, that's happened with both XP and 2000, and both computers have updated virus scanners and have been Spybot'd right after it happened. No trojans or viruses reported.
