I am not sure which forum is best for this, but I chose this one as I find the different aspect of such a noted skeptic investigator to be refreshing.
I happened to be at the Four Roses Bourbon Distillery this week and saw The Kentucky Mint Julep book on sale in the gift store. As I am not really a hard liquor drinker I nearly passed it by, but since Kentucky is my birthplace and I live a short drive from Churchill Downs, I took a look.
Then I saw the author and had to buy it. It was made even more interesting when I saw the title affixed in front of the author's name.
The Kentucky Colonel honorific is interesting. The organization is not the equal of what it used to be, but I hold it in some regard as they continue on as a community-serving organization offering charity and scholarships and probably more.
And that's it. No point to the thread really, except to express my pleasant amusement at discovering this side of Joe Nickell.
