Before listening to the skeptics guide on the train this morning, I was listening to Radio 4. I loved the unapologetic nature of the chap from the lancet towards homeopathy.

it's on listen again:

"0713: The Faculty of Homeopathy, has accused the medical journal the Lancet of stifling debate on the subject."

Fantastic - looks like they're seriously rattled!
Listen to Dr Leckridge at 7:15:19 - he starts with a sly little insult (questioning whether Richard Horton still practises medicine) and then seems to claim that homoeopathy should be offered when the evidence-based medicines fail. Later he refers to one of their homoeopathy customer satisfaction surveys as if that was evidence of efficacy.
Nice to see how Dr Horton nailed the "homoeopathic medicine has never killed a single human being in 250 years" lie.

Not only did Leckridge fail to provide any evidence for his magic water - he couldn't even back up the accusation that The Lancet is stifling debate - the best he could do was refer to Ben Goldacre as a "playground bully".

An excellent denouement of homeopathy by Richard Horton of the Lancet.
I even detected a slight skepticism towards homeopathy by the interviewer who allowed Horton the final say which he used devastatingly.

As to the charge of 'stifling debate', what piffle, what I want is to stifle homeopathy.
