Hollow Earth...ring a bell for anyone?

Apart from the very final line (basically "nobody knows what is below the Earth's crust"), this doesn't look like a half-bad article. It tackles a myth: the Hollow Earth, and more or less shoots down arguments from the tenants of that myth. I'm not sure if you had a precise point in mind when posting this article?...

It was reasonably popular woo some time ago, but pretty much put to rest by the astronauts. I recall reading a book about it in college. As I recall, we are actually supposed to be inside the earth and the sun is a small ball in the center.

I know the hollow earth theory quite well and have read that diary thingy.

It's all a load of guff though I take it?

Of course there is some hollow places below the ground, and it might even have some forms of simple life in it. Life has been shown to exist in the strangest of places, so why not communities of rats and fungi underneath our homes? :D

This nonsense is still adopted by a few esoterics and UFOpeople.

In the last years, the "Hollow Earth" has morphed in to milder variants, with large caves (natural and artificial) but still with with secret alien bases, hidden cities, etc. But even caves of this size are impossible IMHO.

Looks like the North Pole is a good destination for the next Amazing Cruise. Hopefully, the waves of skepticism will keep the ship from falling into the gaping whirlpool where the aurora gases come from.

Sir, you are obviously misinformed.

There are no "gapping whirpools"; polar openings are so wide that one can enter the Inner Earth without noticing. You only would realize that you are at Pellucidar because its always noon down there.

And no "gases that cause the aurora" come from the polar openings; the aurorae are merely caused by reflections of the Inner Sun in the outer layers of the atmosphere.

Mole people (1956). Scientifiction cinema. People covered with chocolate sauce invade the sewers and subways of New Yak!
So, who knew?

You all may continue to deny the existence of Agartha if you want. Your loss.

This rings a bell, I saw it in an episode of Superman as a kid.

I remember a Superman cartoon where they take a boat deep into the Earth and encounter the Bird People. That the one?

Washington state boasts the WORLD'S DEEPEST HOLE at 80,000 feet! At least that's the claim of a man who called the Art Bell radio show identifying himself as "Mel Waters":

An entire discussion forum was spawned, but at this point in time, it seems to have atrophied and died:
