Heads up, Americas favourite peddler of pseudohistory & archaeology is gearing up for a new season.

Be prepared for the history of the United States to be totally re-written.

A+E Networks told Ad Age magazine recently that it is positioning History and H2 as male-oriented channels designed as a masculine counterpart to the female-oriented Lifetime brand. According to A+E, History has become a “male mega-brand,” and adding H2 as a branded extension of History has been key to providing content for a wide variety of men.

...

"“There’s a portion of our viewers that still want the deeper dive,” said Dirk Hoogstra, senior VP-development and programming at History and H2. “So we said ‘If they are out there looking for that information, let's give them a home.’”"

Sad but not surprised. THC has been moving in the crackpot direction for a long time.

It's a shame, because there is a LOT they can do with the current 150th Anniversary of the Civil War, and the upcoming centennial of World War One/The Great War.

They should change their name to the "Just Giving People What They Want" Channel.

While it was a bit excessive about him, THC was better when the H effectively stood for Hitler. He was at least a historical figure of relevance and importance.

Now the only show I can name on that channel is Pawn Stars. On Saturdays, the only day I specifically plan to watch TV, the channel is Pawn Stars for so long I get bored of scrolling through the guide.

Pawn Stars can actually teach you quite a bit about American popular culture and everyday life in the past...and that is a lot more then the crap that THC has on most fo the time now.
But that they are going completly over to crackpot Conspiracy Theories is just plain sad.

Video of Scott Dawson, someone contacted by the makers of 'America Unearthed', a reality series disguised as a documentary, under false pretenses.

He was smart enough not to give them anything they use to change what he believed was correct.

Only problem with this video is the person who made it believes that the "Left Wing, Right Wing, they're all part of the dumbshow put on by (Insert bad guy of your choice)" concept.

in the uK the History Channel until relatively recently was wall to wall WW2 and the Nazis.

True but there are over a hundred channels contentiously battling for that title. [cough]Honey-Boo-Boo.[/cough]

I emailed them one time about their uncritical regurgitation of Von Daniken's hogwash, and that's what they told me: "Just Giving People What They Want".

Which in this case seems to be highly scripted 'reality' programs pretending to be documentaries.

I used to call them The Hitler Channel, like everyone else.

I'd rather see all Hitler, all the time, than the crap we see now.

What's up with that Giorgio (sp?) guy and his crazy hair anyways? He's more valuable as an internet clown than as a UFO spokesperson.

I got the same response. That's what inspired my post.

Hitler was the Man of the Century.

I don’t like Pawn Stars because they are Jews and always cheat their customs every time they come into their shop. At least with the two guys on American Pickers they respect the people they deal with and want them to get a fair price for what they buy. I have seen a few times when the seller wants too little for the item and the pickers will give them more than they ask.

The difference between Aryan and Jew.

Hitler sells to the public. So even back then they were giving the people what they wanted.

No such thing as an Aryan, the term Aryan is a dumb Nazi invention. The Nazis considered the Japanese as ''honorary Aryans''.
