Historic Precedent - Rice to testify

I remember during the whole White Water - Missing Files - Hummer incident that Clinton continually evoked executive privilege. Clinton took Executive Privilege to places it had never been in the History of the United States. In fact Hillary evoked executive Privilege.

I'm really torn as to whether Rice should be compelled to testify. Unlike Clinton's bogus claims of executive privilege Rice truly meets the qualification. This is not a criminal matter and Rice is an adviser to the President. In fact she is national security director.

Think about that for a moment. executive privilege is not enumerated in the constitution. However, the separation of powers should place limits on what congress can and cannot demand of the White house. In the past, the courts have only upheld the concept of executive privilege when it was a national security matter.

Is executive privilege a meaningful concept?

In the future, will all presidents and their advisors be expected to testify about national security issues in front of congress or worry about being perceived as hiding something?

Will this erode the seperation of powers?

She's already testified, just in private. What we need of course is for her to join the circus of these public hearings. Only then can we truly understand what led to 9-11.
