So apparently NAFTA lies/inconsistancy or whatever story this week is getting blamed on Ottawa trying to mess with Obama.
Denials: http://www.canada.com/globaltv/national/story.html?id=402a69b5-4b48-4c76-b61a-e32e59c474a7&k=87165
Allegations: http://www.americablog.com/2008/03/conservative-canadian-government-facing.html

So if Obama fails to become president, I will blame it solely on the Canadian members of this forum and withdraw the application I drew up for my state to join your otherwise magnificent nation. Also, this proves that Stephen Harper is a racist. There, I said it.

Disclaimer I know none of this will actually succeed at being informative, funny or spelled right

If Obama loses, I am marking Canada off my list of places to move, and will support repealing NAFTA just to spite them.

Stephen Harper is a puppy-eater!

If I could find a nice place to live off-planet, I could view both US and Canadian politics with the hilarity they deserve.

Unfortunately, I have to live here. :sob:

I live here, fellow earthling, and I engage in much hilarity. Recall Heinlein's theory, that laughter is a way to release internal pain.

Beer. It does a body good.

Don't worry. Canada will become part of the U.S. just as soon as we run out of trees.

That's right. We're in ur primerrys, messin with ur leckshunz.

I, for one, welcome your new Canadian overlords.

Because I am one! <insert evil overlord cackle>

Keep that up and we will invade Canada again.

Look at this little article...

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/

Seems the person with two faces on NAFTA may have been Clinton, not Obama, after all...

The Canadian government has said it is investigating the source of the leak. The Canadian Press reported Thursday that the comment that sparked the original story may have come from Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper’s chief of staff, Ian Brodie – and that his remark had implicated Clinton’s campaign, not Obama’s.

interesting...

The issue is certainly heating up here, and there does seem to be evidence that the PM's Chief of Staff was the source.

For a politician as saavy as Harper, this whole mess is somewhat surprising. I wonder if perhaps the comments were only intended for domestic consumption and they didn't anticipate it becoming as big in the U.S. as it did. (After all, how often does anything from Canada make the news in the U.S.? Almost never.)

Then again, Harper has always struck me as having a very American style in his politics, it's something I really dislike about him.

But then we'd have to burn the White House again and I really want to burn something different this time.:D

Being totally traitorous, but I like the song:

Of course we're sabotaging Obama's Presidential campaign. And after he loses, we kidnap him and force him to run in, and win, our national election, thereby ousting the Conservative party and bringing forth a utopian era of peace and prosperity for all.*

*"All" in this case refers to "People in Canada and nobody else, neener neener neener."
