According to the book linked below, Manson was (or may have been, JAQ!) a CIA CHAOS MKULTRA agent and he and his Family were brainwashed by the CIA as part of a systematic campaign to discredit the 60s counterculture and the American Left.

Also according to the book, Jack Ruby’s memory was wiped clean by the CIA and he was driven insane right before he was scheduled to testify to the Warren Commission.

- Finally, Vincent Bugliosi is rotting in hell because Helter Skelter was a CIA/FBI lie, or something.

Wouldn't it have made more sense to brainwash kids to sign up for the draft and or volunteer for combat in Vietnam instead?

Or would that have been too obvious?

Why not brainwash the North Vietnamese not to fight?

I guess I'm over-thinking this.

There is a major problem with this post... in the title, you should have put quotes around "Heroic author" as well!!

Not enough MURDER MOST FOUL/ties to JFK and the CIA to be a legit conspiracy.

Manson was an antisocial individual long before MK Ultra came about. He "brainwashed" his disciples using a concoction of drugs and a very persuasive demeanor. Those disciples all (for the most part) followed his instructions. Of course some like Linda Kasabian shook loose when her inner morals saw the carnage occurring during the Tate murders. You can view recent videos of Leslie Van Houten, where she describes the control Manson had over them. That was a terrible waste of potential to justify his "war" and ascension to "ruler" of the USA after a was between whites and blacks. Sad to this day, and I lived the events/trial. I'm not sure that the "new" evidence would overturn the conviction. But then I haven't witnessed what he is speaking of in terms of MK Ultra.

He spent most of the years 1958 to 1967 in Prison on various charges.

The conspiracy theory the OP describes is nothing new, it has been around for a while. I suspect the guy reviving it is trying to cash in on the Quentin Tarantino movie
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood which has revived interest in Manson.
Surprised they did not make a big deal about Squeaky Frome's attempt to kill Gerald Ford...
