One of the problems about working from home is that it gives you plenty of time to listen to the radio. This morning on the BBC Radio 5 station there was an interview with Dr. Rosy Daniel who claims to have a herbal cure for cancer (which appraently corrects the body's pH). Dr Daniel used to be in charge of assessing treatments and has come to the conclusion that this definitely works even though there has been no clinical trials. Her claim is that big pharma will not do the trials and no-one else is interested.
The rebuttal was provided by a doctor who basically said "Yes, these are interesting anecdotes, the next step is to do a clinical trial".
Dr Daniel says "there are people out there who need help now - not when the trials have been conducted".
Here's a link to a Grauniad article which provides a little background http://www.guardian.co.uk/health/story/0,3605,1309126,00.html
I liked the way the BBC handled it. The rebuttal was coherent and didn't come across to much as bashing the alternative treatments.
