Has Trump done anything good in his second term?

Anything at all?

I like that he made incandescent light bulbs legal again. That's a about it for me.

A few good things he did right here. He didn't put Bannon or the pinhead in a cabinet position and he didn't rehire Kellyanne Conway to be part of his Amazonion Guard.

That was good.

He has been more active trying to bring peace in Gaza and Ukraine than Biden. I think that is more criticism of Biden than praise for Trump. Biden appeared very weak on Gaza, and I think that lost him support, which Harris was unable to regain as she couldn't call out Biden for being ineffective.

Keep in mind that a president (and his administration) does a lot of stuff. 99.9% of what Trump does is wrong, but he may occasionally stumble on things that are, at least to some degree, "good". (Pardons given to deserving recipients, executive orders increasing pay in the military, etc.)

Of course a lot of that is just standard stuff that all presidents do (i.e. not something particularly praiseworthy even if it is overall "good".) Some of the stuff may be done not because trump thought it was a good idea but simply because he thought it "looked good"). Some of the stuff might be good even though it could have been done better.

Take for example the government investing in Covid vaccine research in his first term. Overall, that would be characterized as "good". Of course it wasn't particularly unique (governments all over the world were investing in vaccines), and probably any president would have done the same thing if they were in the same situation. And of course it certainly doesn't excuse all the other ways the Trump administration screwed up the covid-19 response.

Is he?

Remember, with regard to Gaza Trump has:
- Talked about displacing the palestinians in order to turn Gaza into some sort of vacation paradise
- Weapons sales to Israel have continued (including an almost $6 billion dollar announcement in September. See: https://www.nbcnews.com/world/israe...ng-nearly-6-billion-weapons-israel-rcna232561)
There is some sort of US "Peace proposal" that the administration has announced but we will have to see if it actually goes anywhere.

As for Ukraine:
- Trump has pushed for capitulation on the part of Ukraine. (Ok, "peace" by giving in I guess is still peace, but not exactly fair.)
- A lot of the support for Ukraine is actually from Congress.

The only "good" thing Trump has done is survive. That alone has kept JD Maybelline, Thiel's bought-and-paid-for disciple and fawning sockpuppet, from the presidency.

Other than that, sweet ◊◊◊◊ all.

Checking in on the ‘seven un-endable wars’ Trump did (not) end

'US President Donald Trump all but nominated himself for the Nobel Peace Prize on Tuesday, claiming in his address to the United Nations that he has “ended seven un-endable wars,” which “were raging, with countless thousands of people being killed."'

'And then of course there are the wars that were not happening when he claims to have ended them.'

No, but he’s done a lot of things Right.
Not enough Right to earn a place on Mount Rushmore.
