I understand that Detective Mark Fuhrman from the OJ murder case wrote a book about JFK. Has anyone read it? Is it a conspiracy theory book?

I understand that Detective Mark Fuhrman from the OJ murder case wrote a book about JFK. ... Is it a conspiracy theory book?

What part of the title of Fuhrman's book "A Simple Act of Murder" confuses you?

It's not entitled "A Murderous Conspiracy" or "A Complex and Confusing Conspiracy Puzzle Gets Even More Complex and Confusing by the Day".

Check Amazon for further details: https://www.amazon.com/Simple-Act-Murder-November-1963/dp/0060721545

Page 217, Fuhrman writes:

"All the evidence shows that Lee Harvey Oswald fired three shots with his Mannlicher-Carcano from the southeast-corner, sixth-floor window of the Texas School Book Depository, killing President John F. Kennedy and wounding Governor John B. Connally. All the evidence shows that Oswald acted alone. There is no evidence of a second gunman or any conspiracy involving Oswald or anyone else.

These are the facts.

Ever since John F. Kennedy was assassinated, his death has remained unresolved. We have grieved, yet we cannot move on. A cloud hangs over his murder and our nation because we refuse to accept what is clearly the truth -- that his assassination was a simple act of murder committed by a man who left evidence proving his guilt. It is time we lay John F. Kennedy, and his assassination, to rest. The case is solved."
.

That seems rather not like a conspiracy book at all. It seems like a factual one.

This thread should probably be merged into the existing JFK one.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts!

Yeah, but he probably doesn't cover when the funeral workers got to the autopsy, because ... reasons.

To many that can't wrap their head around the fact that a nobody can bring down the most powerful man in the world, despite recent events. Thus conspiracy advocates can gain by writing books that are pointed to the conspiracy rants.

And this happened 54 years ago. Since then presidential security, crime scene processing, and communications have come a long way.

To many that can't wrap their head around the fact that a nobody can bring down the most powerful man in the world,

And my argument is the completely opposite: that is the ONLY way it could be done.

As soon as you start trying to involve others in the plot, it's going to unravel.

I think we have the answer we need: Nobody had read Fuhrman's book because it doesn't dish juicy conspiracy woo. Boring.

No, it is an idiot trying to cash in on his name value - such as it still is. (eta) but he has pointed out the only thing he needed to say: Oswald diddit...........

Based on the OJ trial, I'd say he's an ass. Based on the quote in post #4, he's not a total dumbass.

Yeah, that's the problem. Who cares what a racist has to say about the JFK assassination?

There is just no reason to buy his book.

Sorry, but how does any of this impact on the author's ability to write books?

Plenty of pretty sorry-ass people such as holocaust deniers and anti semites have written good books and excellent music in areas outside of those fields (David Irving, James Patrick Hogan, Richard Wagner).

ETA: I have read two of his books; Murder in Greenwich (about the 1975 murder of Martha Moxley, a book which led in part to the conviction of the killer, Michael Skakel), and The Murder Business a book about how the media turn murder into entertainment, and as a result, compromise justice, i.e. trial by media.

Both books, while not what I would call excellent, were certainly well worth the read for anyone interested in crime and justice.

I read "A Murder in Brentwood", and "Murder in Greenwich". They're both good. The first covers the OJ Simpson case from his perspective, which gives insight to how messed up the LAPD's detective branch can be with ego and bad judgement. The 'Greenwich' was his first shot at a true-crime detective story.

I might check out his JFK book to get his take, mostly because there aren't a lot of assassination books that tell the story straight.
