Love it. They're just dumb enough to still believe in the dream. Suckers.

JREF liberals and leftists pray the Republicans will somehow save the floundering Obama presidency.

As a liberal and a lefty I am hoping that Sarah Palin runs for president. As a liberal, lefty and athesist I do not pray for anyone or anything.

The GOP has made great steps in that direction already. Palin running would just be an interesting side-show in an already messed-up circus.

Sorry, but I think that you are quite wrong.

Because I would not expect that too many people here on JREF (Liberal, Leftist, Republican, or otherwise) will be praying that a diety of some sort will help President Obama.

And all you want to do is ride around, Sally, Ride, Sally Ride!

I'm pretty liberal and I'd much rather the Reps run a competent candidate than a joke. It seems, however, that the GOP base disagrees with that. I find that sad.

And the Democrats nominated Hopey McChange in 2008, a community organizer. I suppose you could argue that he was more competent than the base's real choice, John Edwards.

BTW, for those quibbling over the word "pray", substitute "wish with little chance of success".

Seriously? And here I thought more of you than that kind of partisan BS.

Well, ...

Thanks for the clarification to your posting. It is a big help.

However, you might want to double-check your math about that Edwards comment, because Edwards was not all that popular among the electorate in 2008.

So are you in favor of nominating a 3rd place state beauty pageant contestant?

Electorate /= base. The base was very strong for Edwards as late as December 2007. The Daily Kos poll (clearly skewed to Democratic activists, i.e., the base) had Edwards leading Obama by 18 points in September 2007, and still had him up by 9 in December.

Remember, I was responding to complaints about the GOP base.

as if the GOP hasn't enough bozos vying for the nomination.

Sarah Palin has publicly stated that she will not run for President in 2012, but some are saying 'never say never.' A group who calls themselves Conservatives4Palin is attempting to draft the former 1/2 term Governor of Alaska into the Presidential fray.

The devotee of the bloodiest 'ism of the 20th century is still calling other people "idiots", I see.
