This reminds me of an old joke.
Satan was watching God make creation. He would ask GOd questions as HE went along. Finally God got to making man. God was a touch perturbed by this point having delt with Satan's questioning all along. Finally, Satan asked God about this man.
"God, about this man thing you just made."
(hesitant)"Uh, yes?"
"Well, I was thinking..."
"Ok?"
"About their laws..."
"No, you are not going to make their laws for them, Satan. That would be unthinkable!"
"No, no, no. I don't want to make them. Let them....."
