I want to apologize in advance. I have no love for these kinds of threads and consider them a low form of flame bait.

However, I read this article, loved one of the lines, and could not find any good place to post it that would not derail the thread. So, I created a throw-away thread. Again, my apologies.


Why I Left the Republican Party

My favorite line (and obviously the author's as well, as it is in bold in the original):

I hate to tell you this, but this was already posted in another thread. That line was highlighted there too.

EDIT: But hey, this thread could be used every time it happens again!
 
The point isn't that he left the GOP. That just happens to be the context.

The point is (1) that his characterization is hilarious and awesome and (2) fairly accurate concerning the fringe elements that have taken over the direction of the party.
