Inspired to stick this here due to a suggestion that it's all too "conspiracy"-like for the politics forum. Needs to be said, and thoughtfully considered, anyways.
So, like the title says.
That we have massive structural deficits built in is no accident. The GOPers put them there on purpose. The wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and even the Medicare Part D expansion were conceived of to place such massive structural deficits, that entitlement programs as well as social welfare programs would simply become unaffordable and all of them would eventually come to a screeching halt as the federal government declares bankruptcy.
It's like wiring up couple of towers with explosives and waiting for some planes to hit them...
