An internet search for the phrase "us department of defense charles calvin rogers" results in the top result down below.
404 - Page Not Found

The page you are looking for might have been moved, renamed, or may be temporarily unavailable. Use our help center, browse our sitemap, or return to the homepage.
If you use the same search parameters for another person like Audie Murphy, then you get an actual working link with a bio on the MoH awardee. https://www.defense.gov/News/Featur.../medal-of-honor-monday-army-maj-audie-murphy/
Notice how the URL for Murphy's entry does not say "deimedal-of-honor"? Murphy is white by the way.

The same working link/result appears for Gregory Boyington, a Native American.

The powers that be (Trump, Hegseth) have decided to erase Lt. Col. Charles Calvin Rodgers' accomplishments from the government website. To most Americans who heard of him, Rodgers was a hero. But to people like Trump and Hegseth, he is just a ******.

Oh, my goodness. This is surely just an accidental snafu by some webmaster at the DoD. But, of course, the woke mind sees this as a nefarious plot to deny black MoH recipients recognition. I'm sure the woke mind imagines Trump and Hegseth personally sitting down and screening DoD websites to remove pages that honor people of color. You bet.

It is hard to deal with a paranoid mindset.

What is a "woke mind"? What's your definition?

Why were they changing it?

Yeah, the army took down the Fighting 442 website.
A revision of history or a reconfiguration to align with current policies?
That is the question for the Army after the official military website for the 442nd infantry regiment was taken down and republished on Feb. 15.

The 442nd Regimental Combat Team was the most decorated unit for its size and length of service in WWII and composed of Nisei — American-born sons of Japanese immigrants.

Despite their sacrifice, the official military website for the 442nd was taken down on March 14 and prompted a letter from Hawaii Rep. Ed Case to the Army secretary.

“We know darn well that this is an attempt to censor our history, to remove any mention of race or ethnicity from our nation’s story. We know that. And if we didn’t believe it before this, we know it’s happening now,” Case said.

A republished website on the 442nd was made public on March 15 and it makes several references to Japanese-Americans and Nisei soldiers.

“That assignment was handed to somebody. ‘Okay, go into all the websites, purge DEI stuff and,’ And then somebody picked up on it and went, ‘Woah!’ You know, and the reaction that ensued after that is justified in my opinion,” L’Heureux said.

The Army released a statement to KHON2 and said they are working tirelessly to
align content on their site with current guidance.
But they reposted after pushback
.“The 442nd Regimental Combat team holds an honored place in Army History and we are pleased to republish an article that highlights the brave Soldiers who served in the ‘Go-for-Broke’ brigade. In accordance with a Presidential Executive Order and guidance from the Secretary of Defense, the Army recently took down the Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders Heritage webpage that featured content about the 442nd Infantry Regiment and Nisei Soldiers. The Army is tirelessly working through content on that site and articles related to the 442nd Infantry Regiment and Nisei Soldiers will be republished
to better align with current guidance.
The new DEI: Division. Exclusion. Inequity

Try reading the second article Ranb linked. You'll see where the Wikipedia page says this:

"In March 2025, the Department of Defense removed a 'Medal of Honor Monday' news article about Rogers from its website,
modifying the article url to include 'dei' as part of the second Trump administration's efforts to remove references to diversity in American history."

So tell us how that's not attributing Rogers' award of the MoH to "DEI". Seriously, Mike, what the ◊◊◊◊ does Rogers' Medal of Honor, or his dozen other awards, have to do with DEI? How is that not consistent with the false notion that DEI is about giving African American (or Hispanic, or female etc.) people things that they aren't capable of achieving on their own?

I'm sure our resident... Well, we're not allowed to call them the n-word for some reason, so I don't know what to call them, has some plausible explanation for why the url was changed to "dei-medal", too. Just another mistake, I'm sure 🙄.

Seriously, would love to have someone with experience with psychology and/or cults explain to me why they are still vehemently denying that the Elonia regime isn't fascist, or aiming to institute a dictatorship. One might as well try to argue that water isn't wet at this point, yet they're still at it.

Look, we all know those colored people only got medals because of DEI, taking them from far more qualified white soldiers (Like D Trump for instance).
It's not like they were bravely fighting for a country where they were second class citizens.

Just read the account of Rogers' actions which earned his Medal of Honor, then tell me what sort of ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ would feel compelled to add, "but DEI..." to that page. Then remember that Trump got out of serving in Vietnam, like so many other rich young men, because his dad got a doctor to get him a deferment for bone spurs.

They are completely erasing history.

What next, chisel names off the wall at Arlington?

As I posted elsewhere earlier today

These pieces of ◊◊◊◊ think every Black person is a DEI hire, they even called the Vice President a DEI hire.

For Republicans, the assumption is ALWAYS that POC, women, disabled people and LGBTQ people have always taken what belongs to straight, white Christian men.

Why would someone who's "complying" out of malice be in any rush to back out their changes?
It won't be their decision any more. Intentionally or otherwise, they've escalated the story.

If the use of "DEI Medal" in the redirection URL was intended to be noticed and cause a furore then yes, it could be a sign of malicious compliance (rather than a clumsy failure to avoid saying the quiet part out loud). If it was the former then the people who did it either went too far in erasing the achievements of non-white soldiers and will be ordered to put the page back, or they were indeed doing what was ordered but the "DEI Medal" embarrassment will oblige whoever made the decision either to justify the removal (which it seems very unlikely they could do) or to pretend they never intended it and order the page reinstated.
