"Crazed cult leader Charles Manson has broken a 20-year silence in a prison interview coinciding with the 40th anniversary of his conviction for the gruesome Sharon Tate murders - to speak out about global warming.

The infamous killer, who started championing environmental causes from behind bars, bemoaned the 'bad things' being done to environment in a rambling phone interview from his Californian jail cell.

'Everyone’s God and if we don’t wake up to that there’s going to be no weather because our polar caps are melting because we’re doing bad things to the atmosphere.

'If we don’t change that as rapidly as I’m speaking to you now, if we don’t put the green back on the planet and put the trees back that we’ve butchered, if we don’t go to war against the problem...' he added, trailing off."

Sometimes even crazy people say something partially true? Lots of rambling, though.
 
I assume they mean a 20 year media silence.

"Do you want a yogurt cup, Manson? Manson? #### you then, eat your gruel."

It obviously all self interest too, he doesn't want to get out on bail just to have the ice caps melt and flood his tunnel to the inner world.
 
I can't imagine why anyone would give a sassy rat what Chucky Manson's opinions are on any subject whatsoever. A "20-year media silence" should have been 20 years of nobody in the media wanting to talk to him, and it should have remained unbroken.

I think we need to know what side of the Gould vs. Dawkins debate Lady Gaga comes down on before we pay too much attention to Charles Manson's views on Global Warming.

It is nice to know he cares about the environment and all that though, I would have thought a psychopath would be completely indifferent to such things.
 
I'm having a little trouble believing this story. It originated in the British press (The Daily Fail), and has been reported as being sourced from there in most other news outlets--very few in the US.

Many US news outlets picked up the story when he was caught with a cell phone in February.
 
Yeah, it sounds like the kind of non-story you'd find in the Daily Mail. They run out of real news after about a page.
 
Don't you get it? He's playing Jesus again.

"We're all God", see? Except He knows it and we don't, which makes Him the default God on Earth.

He only appears to be in prison. What looks like a prison to us is actually His fortress, from whence He rules with a rod of iron.

He only appears to be aging. It is actually considered stylish among gods to appear old and wizened.

Nothing is what it appears to be. Don't be fooled. Gods are tricky.
 
I think I'll just file this under "random facts about people that have no bearing on their moral standing" right next to "Hitler was a vegetarian"!
 
I heard Al Gore has been visiting Charlie. No doubt trying to solicit support from mass murderer lobby; they both need all the help than can get.
