For a guy who is so quick to thrash 9/11 twoofers, Glenn Beck sure praises them a whole crap-ton on the air. On his radio show yesterday, he had this to say about truther band Muse :
“They are unbelievable, in the unbelievable group, and this is a song that we played on this program about a year ago and I said, listen to the lyrics of this. Now, go ahead and roll the tape of Muse last night on the Grammys. Now, it starts with the video screens in the back with the Gadsden flag, the snake saying don’t tread on me,” Glenn said.

and...

Glenn explained that the song provided the inspiration for the 2010 theme of his radio show.

During Muse’s performance, the Gadsden flag was shown at the beginning. Why was this significant?

“The Gadsden flag at the beginning of this has been, you know, represents in many ways the Tea Party spirit,” he explained. “At the end of this it shows Camilla and Prince Charles in the back of their Rolls Royce where they are trying to beat them and kill them in the streets. And it shows flames coming up in the video screens, et cetera, et cetera. So you have basically a call for revolution by this group.”

So is it ALL truthers he hates, or just the ones Obama hires? Do your homework Glenn!

I'm sure you're right, heck, it might happen sooner than that. Bill Kristol and those Weekly Standard commercials have been on FNC since I started watching it around 9/11/01 (and probably before). Glenn has been making digs at Kristol, for calling him a CTist, all week. It's been a one man pissing contest and really childish stuff coming from Beck and co.

Bad4Business.

are they all truthers or just the singer?

I'm not ra fan but don't think one should reject an artists work because of their politics, that smacks of Hollywood blacklisting.

This is wrong. You're a fan. You can choose artists and entertainers on any standard you want and it's not blacklisting - it's an aesthetic judgement. I don't listen to White Power music just because it's racist. I could say that I don't like the lyrics, but that's not the real reason.

Suddenly, Caribou Barbie does not seem the greatest scatterbrain to ever have a TV show.

Didn't really investigate for that long, but I'm certain the lead singer is nuts. I also don't reject them on their politics. I haven't even heard any of their songs, except for the one on the video.

I predict that Glenn Beck will not last another year at Fox News.He is now turning his venom onto other conservatives, many of whom have huge influence at FOX. Big Mistake.

If he's not on in a year, I suspect it'll be due mostly to these two items mentioned in the link you mentioned:

From January 2010 to last month, the number of his viewers dropped 39 percent – the steepest decline of any cable news show.
Meanwhile, some 300 advertisers have asked not to be on his show – a trend that began when Beck called President Obama a “racist."

I generally just lurk on this forum but I thought I'd post on this one.

From what I have heard Matt Bellamy does not think 9/11 was an inside job anymore saying this in a Rolling Stone interview in 2009:
"There is loads of stuff on the Internet suggesting 9/11 was an inside job. But that is not my belief.”

I imagine they displayed the Gadsden Flag because they were playing the song 'Uprising' which is all about protesting against the government and the Gadsden Flag symbolises this in some way I understand.

Wait are you saying I'm lying about NOT being a fan? Sorry I know more about the subject of my musical tastes than you do.

"White Power music" is not analogous because the bands' odious ideology is central to the 'asthetic' while AFAIK Bellamy's flirtation with trutherism didn't affect the band's lyrics. Should we reject the works of Pound, Hemingway, Eliot, Fitzgerald and Shakespere because anti-Semitism creeped into their books? Or reject the Ramones because (depending on your POV) Johnny was a conservative Republican or Joey a liberal Democrat? Or the Sex Pistols if you are pro-choice?

Beck has never gotten the big advertisers on Fox,he has never made that much revenue for Fox directly, but he was what in TV is called a "locomotive";
he got such good ratings that it helped other shows on the Network by viewers sticking around. With his ratings dropping like a stone,he will lose value for Fox.
And it is no secret that others on Fox think that Beck craziness is hurting the network and causing their creditbility, even with conservatives, to plummet.
What the dropping ratings mean is Beck is vulnerable in a way he was not a year ago, and he is becoming more of a embarassment then he is worth.

1. If political agreement was a prerequisite for enjoying & listening to some artist's music, then I think that my collection would shrink to Toby Keith & Gregorian Chant.

2. It appears today that "rational, thoughtful & measured" are precisely the characteristics that exclude one from obtaining their own TV or Radio show. If you hire "loose cannon", you have to live with "loose cannon".

... until the ratings drop, of course.

There is an almost limitless supply of replacement loose cannons waiting in the wings.

Looks like he (or someone on his staff) has.

Glenn Beck Cools on Muse

After watching Muse’s performance at the Grammy’s last night, Beck came to the difficult conclusion that the rock band probably isn’t Tea Party material after all.
....

In light of last night’s “Grammy” performance, Beck readdressed Muse on his show today, maintaining that their lyrics are “so unbelievably powerful,” but that he suspects they’re calling for a “revolution,” not a “restoration,” as the Tea Party is.

---
What tipped him off to their “revolutionary” cause, however, was one of the images the band chose to project—the famous picture of Prince Charles and Camilla caught in their car and surrounded by young protesters. “You have a call for revolution by this group,” says Beck, citing Muslim extremists, Communist revolutionaries and anarchists as other revolutionaries. “The Tea Party movement isn’t calling for revolution, it’s calling for restoration. Revolution doesn’t help anyone as I believe we will see in Egypt in the end.”

I watched the Grammys and hoped that these idiots would win for Uprising. Mrs. carlito thought I was nuts. I know that they are 9/11 truthers and in general knuckleheads, but music should be about music.

When I think of whose opinion to seek regarding Grammy-winning artists, Glenn Beck is at the bottom of the list. I could not care less what he thinks.
