Glenn Beck has completely lost his mind

I used to enjoy listening to the Glenn Beck radio show in the morning. Of all the radio pundit's, he has been the most entertaining. His opening monologs are usually pretty funny, but since this Terri Shivo thing took over the airwaives, Glenn went from supporter, to advocate, to protest rally member, to raving lunatic.

This past week, Glenn Beck's show has become the Save Terri Shivo show. He's gone to extremes, inviting quack doctors to speak, and possibly making up outright lies. It's become a sick, disturbing obsession; an abuse of power that rivals that of Congress.

Glenn, it's over man. The battle is lost. You can't save Terri, but you can save your radio show. Come back to us. :(

I agree with you. I liked to listen to him while driving to work.

However, I started to dislike him when he referred to evolution as "JUST A THEORY" a few months back.

If you say so. I've always found his monologues to be on the raving loony side.

edited to add: Wait, sorry. I'm thinking of Michael Savage. He is a fully formed raving loony. I think Glenn Beck is somewhere between Savage and Hannity.

I've never listened to Michael Savage, so I wouldn't know. Glenn used to start off with a funny monologue, but then started to get preachy like Sean Hannity after the first few phone calls.

I have fought for the side of life in the Terri Shiavo case, but I condemn the behavior of the media and politicians, especially these past two weeks. It's one thing to ask Michael to divorce his wife and turn over custody to her parents. It's quite another thing to raise six million dollars through your radio show to bribe him, while at the same time bashing him and spewing allegations as if they were confirmed facts. Do you really think Michael would take the money after you called his children bastards on your national talk show? You are not a trial judge, Glenn.

It's also a huge violation of ethics and common decency to sell "I Starved My Wife To Death" T-shirts. I think anyone who buys one of these T-shirts deserves a kick in the nuts. Anyone who buys and WEARS one of these T-shirts deserves two kicks in the nuts.

I've gone back and forth on the whole thing. My biggest problem is that I don't know enough about it (partially by choice). Whether or not it is right to let her die, I absolutely object to allowing someone to die through starvation and dehydration. I can not think of a more inhumane way to treat someone, even if they want to die.

But that's off topic. I have to agree that the media and politicians have been taking such grotesque advantage of this situation that it is obscene.

Good Ed. I didn't look at your link at first because I thought I knew who you were talking about. I just took a look and that is obscene!

He had the audacity this morning to say, "Well they should at least have a federal investigation to see if Michael is responsible for putting her in this condition, so that if he is found innocent, I can apologize."

Really, Glen? Really? You would apologize? Even after selling these to the whole world:

Even after condemning Michael as a muderer for the last five years. Even after the Supreme Court ruling? You would actually believe a court verdict proclaiming Michael's innocense?

This goes far beyond "guilty until proven innocent". It even goes beyond vigil antism. This is similar to the radio propaganda that triggered the Hotel Rwanda genocide.

"I've been getting a lot of flack for calling Michael's children bastards. Well, technically they are bastards!" Well, you know what, Glenn? Technically, my best friend is an ni**er, but I don't call him that and then pretend that I don't mean it in a hateful way.

No more Glenn Beck for me. I'll just be listening to my Bruce Springstein DVD's in the morning from now on. Boooorn in the USA. I was Boooorn in the USA........na na nana, naa naa, nanana.......Boooorn in the USA!!

Several of these radio guys have gone nuts.

Yesterday one was screaming is was the Looney left murdering conservatives because they lost the election. And then a bunch of religious stuff.

I worry that the religious right will use this as a rallying cry to force their religion on everyone. All the people of faith I know are ready to start building re-education camps. :)

Glenn had a quack doctor on his show the other day. The doctor was making such unfounded claims, begging the question, that Glenn had to call him on it. The doctor refused further comment. Glenn had to cut him off and apologize to his listeners.

He was a quack from the beginning, Glenn. You can't call someone and "expert" just because the agree with you!!

Bill O'Reilly has been the most objective radio guy through all of this. He is the only one left that I have any level of respect for, until he starts in on his whole "Secularists are evil and trying to ruin America" bullsh!t.

Speaking of which, Joe Crummey on KFYI (you might remember him from KFI in LA) is actually standing up for the husband.

As is Neal Boortz, which is a refreshing change from the usual drivel he spews.
