I found this story on yayhoo.

Ginseng is thought to be powerful because the root is shaped like a man. I think that is a bunch of superstitious hooey. At most it is a very mild stimulent. The profound stupidity of those that buy this stuff are driving the species to extinction and not the deer. Traditional chinese medicine strikes another blow for ignorance.
Tiger penises, bear gall bladders, (because they are purple, Duh..)baboon noses (because they are blue) and rhinoceros horns also exterminate species in the name of profound stupidity. I cringe at the thought of so many Americans so ga ga for TCM.

Okay, tongue in cheek...

Doesn't this moron know that when the deer have less to eat, then they will starve off nicely and allow the gingseng to grow back, and then the deer population will grow again.

It's called a natural cycle. What's he worried about ;) :D

No, it's named that because it's shaped like a person.

Opinions are like cowboy hats. "I think" is a bunch of superstitious hooey. Minus one for spelling.

Minus one for singular subject and plural verb.

I suppose this explains the dearth of baboons and rhinoceroi (that's what I said; I roll old school) in China.

Without addressing the question of efficacy, your idea that there is some sort of color code involved is simply wrong.

Welcome to the forum. You are looking very lovely today.
