Merged Ghost hunter falls to her death

Wanted for questioning:

I find this deeply tragic. Most of us have done questionable or even "stupid" things in our lives, but we don't deserve to die as a result. She was curious about the world, apparently, and was investigating paranormal claims to determine their veracity. This hardly makes her a suitable target for derision, IMO.

Now, back to our regularly-scheduled woo-bashing.

An untrained person (i.e. no safety lines or other protections?) tries to leap from platform to platform or floor to floor -- three stories up -- in pursuit of ghosts. I think "stupid" is about as factual a discription as I can muster. I'm sorry she died. It was a waste.

It is a tragedy and a waste, most definitely. I am deeply sorry for the family and friends of that woman. But jumping floors at night looking for ghosts is among the top "stupid ways to die" I can think of.

Well, they updated the story now, and it seems the ghost hunting part isn't confirmed, and that the woman and the man she was with were on a "first date"... which involves exploring old buildings at 2 a.m. and jumping between floors. I'm not sure that makes more sense than the original ghost hunting venture scenario.

Yep, there's apparently no actual evidence that they were ghost hunting.

So they don't even have that reason for being in the building goofing off...

You should never lean on railings or fences anyway...

Woman killed in U of T fall was on 1st date

Article: [Woman killed in U of T fall was on 1st date

Excerpt:
Police said earlier in the day that the pair were hunting for ghosts in the 134-year-old building, which they believed was haunted. But they backtracked Thursday afternoon, saying they could not confirm that account.

Blutoskitorial:
Well, just because it wasn't haunted before...
