Dear Mr. Kramer,
I claim to be able to locate underground waterveins and electromagnetic radiation from electrical sources by means of a pendulum.

When I stand directly over the source of radiation, the pendulum swings back and forth. If I am standing to the left of the source, the pendulum rotates to the right. Likewise, if I am standing to the right of the source, it rotates to the left.

Should the radiation source be quite strong, the pendulum will quiver in a vertical position over the source.

If the radiation source is covered with a piece of paper or a cotton cloth, the pendulum comes to rest.

As evidence I can show the following:

In the cellar of a house I will search for a watervein or a device emitting electromagnetic radiation (e.g. a cellular phone or electrical appliance) which is turned on. My pendulum will show me the location as described above.

Next I will go into a room above the cellar and search for the radiation source in the cellar. The pendulum will reveal the new location of the radiation source.

As soon as the radiation source in the cellar is covered by a wollen cloth or paper, or if a plastic cup is placed upsidedown over the source, my pendulum will immediately begin to come to rest.

If, then, the cloth or cup is removed, the pendulum will begin swinging again.

Yours sincerely, Gerhard Gabrisch

Am I right in thinking that he will detect something uncovered in plain sight?

Or is he saying that he can detect an object he has already seen in the room below?

Or is he saying that a plastic cup over the object will stop the pendulum detecting it, but it will work through floors/ceilings?

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

I really don't understand the cloth/cup thing. I'm not liking the whole "electromagnetic radiation" thing either, doesn't that include visible light (which would explain the cup)?

I think he is saying that after calibrating on a device in the basement, he can locate it from the floor above even after it is moved. See the line below from his claim with the emphasis on "new location".
Next I will go into a room above the cellar and search for the radiation source in the cellar. The pendulum will reveal the new location of the radiation source.

BTW: if he does this in my basement, it won't work since there is a layer of insulation with paper backing between the floors which will surely block the "radiation", but don't tell him that.

That's okay, I'm sure his memory of where it was in the first place will be sufficient ;) Hell, I think I could do it too and I don't even need a pendulum!
