George Bush, Halle Berry Share Worst Film Honors

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Beating such established Hollywood hunks as Colin Farrell and Vin Diesel (news), President Bush (news - web sites) won the Golden Raspberry Award on Saturday for worst actor of the year for his appearance in Michael Moore's documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11."
This is actually pretty funny. It's also good grist for the "Hollywood doesn't share American values" mill. Bush wasn't in the movie voluntarily and wasn't "acting" in the Hollywood sense. Oh well, award shows are just politics. Look at Cannes, oh I forgot, those were serious and awarded 9/11 on artistic merit. ;)

I suppose this all depends if, when referring to Bush, you want to limit your review to just his acting in movies.

I also like the nominations for worst screen couple. Bush is in the list with either Condi or his pet goat. Interesting choice. How bad does one's credibility rating have to be to be nominated for a Razzie while not even acting?

Who said he WASN'T acting? If Ronald Reagan was able to act his way right through two terms (remember the lines, smile at the camera) then why can't the presidential puppet?

Er, the "Razzies" awards for the worst movies, like the Ig Noble awards, are usually chosen in a way that maximizes the humor of the award. Somebody's taking the "Razzies" waaaaaay too seriously here...

Please note that in my OP I said "wasn't acting" in the Hollywood sense" I had conceeded the point from the start. My point is that he wasn't trying to make a movie, he didn't read a script by the producers of 9/11 and didn't take direction from Moore.

Carry on.

My post was in the spirit of the Razzies. I wanted to take a shot at Hollywood and awards shows in the same vain.

Don't take me too seriously.
