I read in a paper yesterday that Uri Geller, in his never-actually-official position of co-chairman of Exeter Football Club, made irregular cash payments to members of the team, and that he was under investigation by the FA - I can't find anything on the BBC site and I'm not sure where else to look, so has anyone heard anything else about this?

The latest news report I could find has Geller calling for the board of Exeter FC to step down, after they more or less kicked him out:

There is an article on the Guardian site.

Graham Bean's final act as the Football Association's compliance officer has seen him bequeath details of a two-month investigation into allegations of financial irregularities at relegated Exeter City.
Bean, who leaves the FA today, has led an inquiry into claims that Uri Geller, Exeter's associate director, made illicit payments to players last season as an incentive to keep the club in the league.
Members of the team have been interviewed by Bean and apparently admitted accepting cash payments. Geller denies any wrongdoing.
