I acquired a book of quotes recently (Foolish Words by Laura Ward (c)2003), and one of them caught my eye:

I was sued by a woman who claimed that she became pregnant because she was watching me on television and I bent her contraceptive coil
- Uri Geller

I'd love to find out more about this alleged lawsuit - whether it actually happened, and if so how long it took for the judge to throw it out of court. :D

Anyone got any ideas?

I heard about that one too. Apparently the woman and her partner did it in the spoons position ;)

After a bit of Googling, I can only find this quote attributed to Geller. As for the outcome, here's an article from Geller's site that is apparently an interview with "Venue" magazine

Some years ago it was reported that a woman was suing you for bending her IUD, causing her to become pregnant. Is this true? Did she win? And have you attracted any other unusual litigation?

I remember her story very well, but I have no idea what the outcome was. I don’t even know if she had the baby. Her coil certainly bent inside her, according to her doctors. The case never reached court - as a matter of fact, I have never been sued through the courts. I am a very affable man, and I never set out to make enemies. On the other hand, I have a reputation for being litigious, because I am also a proud man and I will not cower when others abuse their position to libel me.

My bolding.

Geller *was* sued in 1971 (the above interview is dated 1978), but he claims that "technically" he wasn't sued and that this was part of an erratum to be added to one of James Randi's books.

The plaintiff in this case had charged that I Uri Geller was performing tricks rather than producing paranormal feats. The judge awarded the plaintiff only the price he had paid for admission to my show.

Beersheba - The Magistrate's Court here yesterday upheld charges that Uri Geller, the self-proclaimed telepathist, was guilty of breach of contract in that he promised to perform feats of telepathy, parapsychology, hypnotism and telekinesis, while in fact he merely employed sleight-of-hand and stage tricks. Geller was ordered to foot costs of £20 and to repay the plaintiff - Uri Goldstein, a mechanical engineering student at the University of the Negev - the £7.50 Goldstein had paid for a ticket to one of Geller's performances.

The court ruled with the plaintiff that Geller's performance - in contrast to his advertised promises - constituted a breach of the contract defined by the purchase of a ticket to the performance.

Here'a a little extra conformation of at least part of the story (incidentally, most accounts give the woman's nationality as Swedish)

"A Danish citizen, Elsa Lorrein, carried felt sorry for against Geller by claiming that at the time of one of his televised services, it had twisted remotely his coil whereas it was in the arms of her lover (of the danger to look at television with the bed!). Result a nondesired pregnancy. The court déboutée fault of a proof attesting the causal relation of the called upon facts."
