Fox News continues war on US Constitution

And for those that can't connect two dots labeled 1 and 2, that would be against the constitution because he advocates recognizing a particular religious belief in law.

Holy cow! They still have Cal Thomas on Fox News? I thought he died out with Jerry Falwell, and that Huckabee was the replacement preacher/nut on their air.

The article in OP's link is titled "Cal Thomas Predicts Collapse of Civilization After Marriage Equality Rulings"

Knowing about Cal Thomas, I have to agree. His civilization is certainly collapsing. And about time.

Is the OP using some kind of Constitution that does not contain the First Amendment?

The first amendment recognizes the Christian Creator as real?

You wanna run that one by me again?

Ooh! Let me play!

The first amendment says that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. So that means we revert to the default position, the natural law so to speak, whereby we are a Christian nation founded on the principles of the ten commandments, Christ and the Father, apple pie and Chevrolet. There's nothing the government can do to interfere with that status quo. That's the first amendment!

It lets you say that the Christian Creator is real, and the press to report that, without....

dun dun dunnnn...

"Destroying" the Constitution.

See, jj? Freedom of Speech. Sorry you find it such a headache.

Nobody is denying that Fox News has the right to say whatever they want. What's being discussed is whether Fox News is right in what it says.

The argument that the First Amendment causes a default to colonial concepts of Christianity is flawed. Among other reasons, it ignores the fact that colonial Protestentism was far different from the European Catholicism and Anglicanism from which many people had fled. In Europe, a people were generally expected to adopt the religion of their lord or king. One of the purposes of the First Amendment's religion clause was to prevent that from recurring in America.

It should also be noted that the founders of the nation were of many different religious backgrounds. One wonders if Haym Salomon would have felt inclined to give the Continental Congress all that money if he thought the founders intended a "Christian" nation.

He's part of their efforts to reach a younger demographic.

And, yeah. He's been predicting the end now for decades.
