Flying rods

The auction must have ended yesterday, but on e-bay there was a cryptozoology action figure (part of a collection!) of a "rod", with a corresponding card pointing out its various features.

Anybody who still believes in flying rods is out of their mind. The phenomenon was completely debunked on a Canadian television program called "Proof Positive." The video analyst was able to almost instantly identify what the "rods" were the second he saw them--it's nothing more than the way video displays any moving insect.

He then proceeded to recreate a "rod" effortlessly.

So lame.

Hilariously enough,

One of the stills from the first link you gave was FROM the program that proved rods were fake. How stupid can people be.

If I put small flying insect in a glass or perspex container and recorded an image with slow shutter speed (perhaps a video capiture) and then auctioned it on e-bay as a "rod" would I be guilty of fraud?

In point of fact, it would be a "rod" - just as all the other supposed rods are.
